Bio

Ryan Unmack has been an environmental advocate for more than 15 years. He holds a bachelors degree in Social and Behavioral sciences from CSU Monterey Bay, and a masters degree in Systems Design from Polytechnico di Torino in Turin Italy. Ryan farmed as an apprentice in the Northern California Bio-dynamics Association, and completed his first Permaculture Design Course in 2005. In 2006 Ryan Co-Founded Finca Montesano a model permaculture farm and non-profit in Central Nicaragua dedicated to regenerative rural development, education and eco-technology transfer.

From 2008 to 2010 Ryan worked as an environmental consultant in southern california working with multi-million dollar, high profile water and soil remediation projects, as well as air sampling and document
preparation for regulatory agencies. Ryan is a LEED AP.

In 2010 Ryan quit working as a full time consultant to launch the PermaculturePodcast.org.

Ryan is interested in colaborating with other practicing permaculturalists he encounters through this project for regenerative design and remediation projects. Ryan loves to teach people of all ages and is available to speak and teach classes related to permaculture.

In his free time Ryan likes to get into the ocean and surf, listen to music, and spend time with his friends and family.
